About LEAP

LEAP is the leading provider of Legal Practice Management Solutions in the world and is part of ATI – one of the largest international LegalTech companies. For more than 30 years, our curiosity and commitment to continual improvement has kept us reimagining productivity tools for lawyers and their staff to support our guiding purpose, to ‘Help lawyers who help people’. The market-leading software we develop, and support is used by more than 71,000 lawyers and their staff in small and medium-sized law firms.

Working alongside our international team of passionate high achievers, you’ll join a fast-growing technology business where things seldom stay the same for long. With more than 1000 smart, caring and ambitious ‘LEAPsters’ working together across Australia, Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, Poland and New Zealand, you’ll find yourself in good company here.

Meet the team

Our vertical teams are specialist divisions within LEAP, each focused on building dedicated software solutions for a specific area of legal practice. Structured as cross-functional teams of legal professionals, software engineers, designers, and client-focused specialists, each vertical works closely together to deliver practical products used every day by law firms across Australia and New Zealand.

This is genuinely exciting work. As an engineer in one of our vertical teams, you won’t be maintaining legacy systems — you’ll be taking greenfield ideas from proof-of-concept all the way to production. That means owning builds end-to-end, shaping architecture decisions early, and seeing your work land in the hands of real users quickly. A big part of what we’re building right now sits at the intersection of legal expertise and AI — and the products coming out of our vertical teams have the potential to fundamentally change how law firms operate.

Depending on the vertical you join, you could be building for criminal law, personal injury, employment law, wills & estates, or another specialist practice area. Each brings its own domain challenges, a dedicated legal expert, and a close-knit team invested in making a real difference for clients. You will also have the support and infrastructure of LEAP Dev - our wider engineering organization, to give you everything you need to build and ship great software.

What you’ll do

•       Strong proficiency in frontend development using modern web technologies, particularly React

•       Expertise in at least one modern server-side programming language

•       Solid experience with database technologies

•       In-depth understanding of software development methodologies, software architecture, and best practices

•       Proficiency in Test Driven Development (TDD) and applying automated testing best practices
