AI summary: Senior Product Manager leads AI product strategy and development for CompanyCam's camera features, working cross-functionally to validate assumptions and drive customer impact.

Description

Hi, we’re CompanyCam.

We’re a simple-to-use photo documentation and productivity app for contractors of all commercial and home services industries. Packed with intuitive functionality, CompanyCam facilitates unparalleled communication and accountability across a contractor’s entire business. We’re committed to providing a consumer-grade, game-changing experience that helps our users build trust within their company and with their customers.

But don’t let that corporate description fool you—the people behind our buttoned-up product are laid-back (but hardworking), genuine, and kickass, and you could be one of them!

What We Care About

One Team: We don’t think of ourselves as “Product Managers”, “Engineers”, or “Designers” first. Beyond denoting skill sets and areas of expertise, we don’t think departments matter. We align ourselves to the goals we’re working to achieve and make sure we have the right expertise to drive meaningful impact. We solve customer problems together, getting the right people with the right context in the right rooms to work holistically.

We question everything and are precious about nothing: Ideas can and should come from anywhere, and we aren’t tied to our own. Product Managers are not the exclusive purveyors of great ideas. We proactively source inputs from all directions, talk to our customers regularly, and are quick to change course when we know there’s a better way.

We build to learn: We believe the fastest way to a good answer is to make something real. Whether that’s a rough prototype, a quick experiment, or a working artifact you can put in front of a customer, we’d rather test a real thing than debate a hypothetical one. We use every tool available to us to move faster and think more clearly.

We Execute For Impact: When we get it right, we have the opportunity to impact small business owners across the country. Our continued growth is directly tied to the outsized value we produce for our customers.

We De-risk Assumptions: We are not beholden to ideas. We have goals, and we treat everything beyond that as a series of hypotheses to validate. We constantly ask: “What’s the most important thing I should be working on right now? How do I confirm or reject that assumption as fast as possible?” We don’t expect to be perfect the first time, but by staying close to customers and moving fast, we tend to be pretty on target.

The Role

As a Senior Product Manager, AI on the Camera team you’ll drive CompanyCam’s artificial intelligence product strategy and execution, owning the development of AI-powered camera features that enhance contractor productivity and establish competitive differentiation in the construction technology market. You’ll lead cross-functional product development, conduct customer discovery to identify high-impact opportunities, and translate complex AI capabilities into intuitive user experiences. You’ll establish AI product development frameworks, drive data-driven decision making for AI feature optimization, and serve as the primary stakeholder communicator for AI strategy.

The Camera team owns CompanyCam’s most foundational surface, the feature that every contractor touches every single day. We’re a small, focused team that moves fast, stays close to customers, and believes the best ideas come from building things and learning from them. AI is opening up a whole new chapter for what the camera can do, and we’re just getting started.

Remote: Candidates must permanently and currently reside in the United States. Employees are not required to work in the office or relocate to Lincoln, Nebraska, for this opportunity. Employees are encouraged to come hang at headquarters for up to 10 days per calendar year on CompanyCam’s dime.

What You’ll Do

  • Own CompanyCam’s most-used and most-loved feature, the camera, and define what it becomes next.
  • Build rough prototypes and testable artifacts using AI tools to pressure test ideas before.
  • Drive AI integration into the camera experience, including capabilities like auto-generated photo descriptions and photo flagging.
  • Partner with design and engineering to move from discovery to delivery without a lot of hand-holding in between.
  • Get close to customers through interviews, usage data, and ongoing feedback loops to find where AI can actually move the needle.
  • Run experiments and A/B tests to validate ideas and sharpen what’s already shipped.
  • Communicate clearly across customer success, sales, and marketing when it’s time to bring something to market.
  • Track what matters: adoption, engagement, retention, and customer satisfaction, and use that to decide what to do next.

The Impact You’ll Have

At CompanyCam, your work makes a real impact. Whether you’re writing code, supporting customers, or designing experiences, your contributions directly shape the product we deliver and the people we serve. We’re building something that helps real people solve real problems — and we believe that kind of work is best done by a team that reflects the world around us. You will have impact by:

  • Owning CompanyCam’s most-used and most-loved feature, the camera, and shaping its next chapter.
  • Translating cutting-edge AI capabilities into simple, intuitive experiences that solve real problems for real people.
  • Building and refining AI features through continuous customer discovery, data analysis, and iterative experimentation.
  • Driving cross-functional alignment across design, engineering, sales, and customer success to bring AI products to market with measurable business impact.

What You’ll Bring

  • You bring 5+ years of product management experience, including 1+ years working directly on AI/ML products.
  • You have a habit of reaching for AI tools to move faster and think more clearly, not just to talk about them.
  • You’re comfortable building near-code prototypes or working artifacts to test ideas with customers.
  • You’ve shipped consumer or B2B software products with real user adoption and measurable business impact.
  • You have a deep understanding of the AI/ML product development lifecycle, including prompting, evaluations, deployment, and monitoring.
  • You’re proficient with product analytics tools and use data to make decisions, not just to report on them.
  • You lead through influence, partnering with engineering managers and guiding multidisciplinary teams to successful outcomes.
  • Expert-level communication skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams and multiple departments.
  • You have a courageous, coachable leadership style. You address hard things directly and stay open to feedback.
  • You’re invested in the success of your colleagues, and they’re invested in yours.

Bonus Points

  • You have experience with device or camera functionality, including hardware limitations and capture experience.
  • You’ve built or shipped something with AI that you’re genuinely proud of.
